The
bumpa
is a ritual vase with a spout used in Tibetan Buddhist rituals and empowerments. It is understood to be, in some contexts, the vessel or
the expanse of the Universe.
When using it, you visualize the Mandala inside the Bumpa along with all
the deities and the celestial mansion. Its use is associated with
certain tantric practices, but it can also be used for general
offerings. The water held inside of it is to be visualized as nectar.
