It has been advised by many of our DB teachers that this module on All About Karma be delayed until after module 7, Refuge in the Three Jewels. This is personal choice for each student to make depending on their personal inclination. The MP3 CD version of this program can be played on an MP3 player or on your computer. This module aims to introduce you to the Buddhist concept of Karma, the law of cause and effect, and what it means to take personal responsibility. Using examples from everyday life we will analyze how actions determine their results and cause us to experience either happiness or suffering. We will explore purification practices and establish a daily meditation on Karma.
Taught by Renate Ogilvie who, since meeting Lama Zopa Rinpoche in 1990, has been studying and teaching Buddhism in the Tibetan tradition at his request. Renate is a psychotherapist working in private practice in Australia. She is interested in applying the principles of the Dharma to the specific suffering of modern life and does this skillfully in this module.
