Guru Puja is traditionally celebrated on the 10th and 25th days of the lunar month. During the puja various kinds of offerings are made, one of them being tsog - food mentally transformed into substances worthy to be enjoyed by our teachers. Now you can do this puja and offer tsog by chanting along with the Kopan monks. Chanting is in Tibetan.
This is remarkable collaboration including Kopan's abbot Lama Lhundrup, the monks and nuns of Kopan, Grammy-winning recording engineer Tom Bates, Ven. Fran Mohoupt as graphic designer, and Hilary Dirlam as author of liner notes.
Hilary says,
"What is unique about our series of CDs is that although they are not sweetened for our Western ears, the fact that they are recorded in the amazing sound chambers of Kopan's gompas makes it perfect music for meditation. Our project is, as far as I know, the only attempt to document an entire lineage of chants in pure form. In this time of extraordinary global change, I believe these CDs are important not only to preserve something that could easily be lost, but also offer a skillful method for uplifting one's heart and strengthening one's daily practice.”
We highly recommend to play this CD's on a VLC media player. It is a highly portable multimedia player supporting most audio and video formats from files, physical media (DVDs, VCD, Audio-CD), TV capture cards and many network streaming protocols. This software can be downloaded for free in the internet.
