The
Heart Advice for Death and Dying Online course is designed to provide practical instructions for the time of death to students who are interested in learning about death and dying from the Tibetan Buddhist perspective. This course is appropriate for beginners and does not assume that those who participate in this course know anything at all about Buddhism. However, the materials covered in this course should not be considered the property of beginners alone; the teachings offered here are profound and will be of benefit to even advanced students on the path to enlightenment.
This course has been presented as a series of five sessions of approximately two hours each. Each session contains MP3 audio teachings and guided meditations by Venerable Sangye Khadro – a senior American teacher of Tibetan Buddhism well known for her gentle yet profound teaching style. These audio teachings serve as an excellent companion to the required reading text Heart Advice for Death and Dying which contains Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s essential advice for the time of death and for finding the deepest fulfillment in life. Each session also includes handouts of meditation scripts and suggested questions for contemplation and discussion are also provided.
