This MP3 CD is the audio recording from Venerable Robina Courtin’s retreat at Land of Medicine Buddha, December 3 – 11, 2005, called “Inner Peace in a Crazy Outer World: Becoming Compassionate Buddha - Tantric Mahamudra for Everyday Life”.

In this eight-day retreat, Ven. Robina combined teachings on the path to enlightenment (Lam Rim) with the instructions of Lama Yeshe in Becoming the Compassion Buddha in which Lama leads practitioners through a series of meditations on Chenrezig Guru Yoga. Lama Yeshe elaborates on the essential practice of guru yoga, leading practitioners through various meditations all hinging upon mahamudra, the meditation on the emptiness of one’s mind. He teaches us how to trust our own wisdom and how to bring Lord Buddha’s teachings into every minute of our life.

This is an excellent introduction to Buddhism for new students, as well as a great opportunity to deepen one's practice for intermediate and advanced students alike. In the first five days of the retreat, the daily schedule combines teachings with meditation sessions, question-answer periods and discussion groups. The last two full days take the form of a meditation retreat designed to give participants an opportunity to familiarize themselves with and gain insight into the topics.
