This audio CD features a selection of devotional songs from the Nyung Nä fasting practices, established by Bhikshuni Lakshmi, a 10th century Buddhist nun. She is one of the few female Buddhist practitioners who established an authentic practice lineage in Tibet, and is still highly regarded as a realized being.

This 1,000 year old ceremony is widely practiced today not only in Tibet, but in many other countries where Tibetan Buddhism has found a home.

Haunting melodies are performed by the Tibetan nuns of Khachoe Ghakyil Ling Nunery.
