The calendar is only available in downloadable PDF format. If you are looking for the physical copy, please contact Liberation Prison Project.

The Liberation Tibetan Calendar includes the Tibetan lunar dates and information about more than thirty kinds of practice days and auspicious and inauspicious days for each month.

Every year since 1999, Liberation Prison Project has produced and sold thousands of Liberation Tibetan lunar calendars to support their work, helping people in prison with their Buddhist practice.

The calendar is prepared by astrologer Paksam Ngawang Thartho based on the Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institutes calendar, with additional advice from  Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Spiritual Director of FPMT, and Geshe Ngawang Dakpa.

Contents:

  • Buddhist images
  • Inspirational sayings from Buddhist spiritual masters
  • Good days for practice
  • Birthdays and anniversaries of holy beings
  • Unfavorable days
  • Medicine Buddha pujas
  • No funerals or cremations
  • Moons and eclipses
  • No starting new business activities
  • Fire pujas
  • No weddings
  • Tara days
  • No parties
  • No Haircutting
According to Lama Zopa Rinpoche, the Dharani Which Accomplishes All Aims and A Ritual to Perform When Undertaking Activities on Inauspicious Days can be performed when you have to do something even though it is the wrong day, wrong star, or wrong time for it.

Important: According to the late Ven. Choden Rinpoche, one of Lama Zopa Rinpoche's teachers, observation of auspicious days should be according to the date in India, not the date in one's home country. Therefore, when Lama Zopa Rinpoche is not in India, he celebrates Buddha Days and other auspicious dates according to the time in India.

An Order Confirmation with the link to download this item should arrive to your email shortly after you have placed your order.

The advice and practices on this calendar are offered as a meditation aid and not for the diagnosis or treatment of any illness or medical condition. Consult your physician or other healthcare providers if you have a critical condition.
