Nel Nobile Grande Dharani, Buddha ha promesso che coloro che lo tengono, lo conservano, lo recitano e lo memorizzano saranno protetti da tutte le malattie infettive, dalla paura e dai danni, compresi gli incendi, i veleni e le persecuzioni. Inoltre, "non si allontaneranno da Bodhicitta".

Così, è stata una delle pratiche che Lama Zopa Rinpoce ha raccomandato al sangha di recitare durante l'epidemia di Covid al monastero di Kopan e al monastero femminile Kachoe Ghakyil Ling nel maggio 2021.

Dopo la traduzione del Nobile Grande Dharani, che Rinpoce aveva richiesto, ha detto: "Ora che è disponibile in inglese e in altre lingue ed è ciò che è il meglio per gli esseri senzienti, per la guarigione e qualsiasi altro scopo.”
