This advanced practice is restricted to those who have received a highest yoga tantra initiation, preferably of Yamantaka, and completed a nearing retreat and fire offering of the deity. This extremely abbreviated command (kago) ritual, is a request to the Dharma protectors and other enlightened beings to bestow their protection upon someone, together with an injunction to any negative beings to not harm them. Command rituals, which include instructing protectors to engage in specific beneficial activities, are advanced practices that are usually done by qualified teachers or members of the monastic sangha on behalf of students.
