The Po Praise, a moving homage to the elegant appearance and enlightened qualities and activities of Avalokitesvara, the bodhisattva of compassion, comes from the Nyungne practice. It carries the promise that if anyone, on waking at dawn, “Purely and clearly recites this supreme praise, all their mundane and supramundane needs will be fulfilled in this life and all future lives.”

Lama Zopa Rinpoche incorporates the Po Praise in his advice on prostration practice. Rinpoche recommends that, after the names of the Medicine Buddhas, one could recite the long Vajrasattva mantra twenty-one times and then the Po Praise while prostrating.
