These confession verses are mainly drawn from Shantideva, Engaging in the Deeds of a Bodhisattva, and the King of Prayers. Lama Zopa Rinpoche sometimes recited these verses after the Confession of a Bodhisattva’s Downfalls to the Thirty-Five Buddhas (Tung shag) and General Confession (Chhi shag).
